Oakland Feather River Camp (OFRC) has been Oakland’s municipal family camp in the sierras since 1924; it was once a passenger train ride away from Jack London Square. It is located in Quincy, CA and sits in a beautiful location along Spanish Creek, at the base of Mount Hough. It is also a phenomenal base camp for road, gravel, and mountain biking in the area.
The Yellow Jackets have put together a bicycling event up at OFRC which will take place from Thursday August 10th through Sunday August 13th. This is similar in style to an end of season ride, but during the summer.
The accommodations are platform tent cabins with canvas tops. Each cabin has beds that comfortably sleep up to 4 people with room for gear. All meals are provided by the camp kitchen. There will be a grab and go breakfast, a pack-your-own lunch station in the morning, and a hot, buffet style dinner in the evening. Think of it as rustic, all-inclusive.
Partners, families, and friends are welcome to attend. For non-riders, there will be opportunities for hiking, swimming in the river, playing games, exploring the town of Quincy, etc. during the day. Everyone will likely be together in the afternoons and evenings.
The cost of the event is $110 per person, per night. This includes both food and lodging. The total ticket price is $330 for the event.
*The event is a 3-night minimum, no partial tickets are available.
**There is a $20 per night extra charge for single cabin occupancy.
A Few Considerations:
OFRC is 4-5 hour drive from Oakland.
